CLOSE CHECKLIST · IN CONTROL EVERY MONTH

The close checklist that gets your team to close on time, every month.

You build it yourself: tasks with an owner, a deadline at working-day level and a fixed order. It comes back automatically every month, no more loose Excel lists. You see at a glance what is done, what is stuck and whose turn it is, and the most important checks run along automatically.

The heart of the month-end close: tasks with an owner · working-day deadlines · dependencies · automatic checks · per BV and for the group

One task list, with owners, deadlines and a fixed order

Every close task has an owner, a deadline expressed as a working day relative to month-end, and where needed a dependency: reporting only starts once the checks are done. You put the list together once, yourself or from the built-in library, and from then on Easyclose prepares it again every month. How the whole close process fits together is covered in the step-by-step guide to the month-end close.

A tick is more than a tick: Easyclose records who completed a task and when. Tasks with a reviewer pass a second pair of eyes before they count as done.

See where the close stands at a glance

The progress ring shows how much is done, the traffic-light colours show where it is stuck. Green is finished, amber needs attention, and anything overdue stands out. So on working day 5 you know exactly whether you can deliver on working day 7. Want all your BVs side by side? That is what the close dashboard is for.

The ring also sits on the dashboard, per BV and for the group, with a marker for what should already have been done according to plan. Fall behind that marker and you see it immediately.

Bottlenecks that come back every month become visible

Every completed task goes into the log, with one question attached: was it on time? So after a few months you can see which tasks structurally slip, and how many days late they are on average. That is not an accusation, but the start of a good conversation: the problem often sits in the hand-over, not with the person.

You never saw this pattern in Excel. Here it is in black and white: the input from projects is structurally late. One agreement with that department wins you two to four days every month.

Automatic checks hook straight into your figures

Easyclose already has your figures, so the checklist checks part of itself. After every import the financial checks run automatically, whether your month counts €48k or €486k in revenue: does the balance sheet balance, do debit and credit match, and does the intercompany current account between the BVs stand at €0. Green really means green, because it comes straight from the books.

You find a difference in September, not months later when the annual accounts are drawn up. From the check you click straight through to the intercompany matrix and the underlying entries.

Everyone sees whose turn it is, and when it is done: party

Each team member sees their own tasks, you see the whole. No more emails asking "how is the VAT coming along?": the checklist is the answer. This works per entity and for the whole group, so even when four BVs close at the same time. And once everything is marked done, Easyclose celebrates with a little party on your screen.

How it works

STEP 1

Build your checklist

Start from the ready-made library or let Easyclose make a proposal based on your own figures. Then make it your own: tasks, owners, deadlines and order.

STEP 2

Tick off and watch the progress

The list is ready and waiting every month. The team ticks off, the ring fills up, the checks run along automatically and bottlenecks become visible.

STEP 3

Close faster, every month

A fixed rhythm, no loose lists, and a log that shows where time can be won. Every close gets a little shorter than the one before.

Try the checklist in the demo

The demo runs entirely in your browser with fictitious figures and a complete team: a close in progress, a couple of tasks running late, a review that is waiting and an intercompany difference to find. No account, nothing to install.

  • A populated checklist with a team and deadlines
  • Progress ring and traffic-light colours
  • Automatic checks, including the intercompany check
  • Bottlenecks across multiple months
The close checklist is included in every Easyclose plan.

Frequently asked questions

Do tasks come back automatically every month?

Yes. You set up the checklist once and Easyclose prepares it again every period. Per task you choose the frequency (monthly, quarterly or yearly) and a deadline as a working day relative to month-end, so "working day 3" automatically becomes the right date, month after month.

Can colleagues join in, and are there roles?

Yes. You assign an owner per task and, optionally, a reviewer for a four-eyes check. Everyone sees their own tasks, you see the whole. A colleague with the viewer role looks along but cannot tick anything off; who completed what is always recorded.

Are there automatic checks?

Yes. Because your figures are already in Easyclose, the checklist checks part of itself: does the balance sheet balance, do debit and credit match, and does the intercompany current account between your BVs stand at €0. If there is a difference, Easyclose points to the month it arose, so you can search where it matters.

Does it work per BV and for the group?

Yes. Each entity has its own checklist and progress, and for the group you see everything side by side: which BV is ahead, which is behind, and where the bottlenecks sit. That is how you steer four closes at once without losing the overview.

Can I combine it with the close dashboard?

Yes, the two belong together. The checklist is the shop floor, the close dashboard is the overview: progress per BV and per team member, what is late and what is waiting for review. From the dashboard you click straight through to the task.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Like the rest of Easyclose, the checklist simply works on your phone. Handy when a colleague ticks off a task from the office, or when you want a quick look on the go to see whether the close is on schedule.
