STORYTELLING · COMING SOON

From figures to a narrative the board understands.

A board does not read a table, it reads a story. Describe what you want in plain language, and Easyclose writes the board narrative: the why behind the figures, the variances that matter, in your context. Every number stays traceable to the journal entry, and you refine it simply in a conversation.

The third quarter closed on a result of €1.15m, 14% above budget. Growth came mainly from higher margins at Techniek BV; the other operating companies moved broadly flat. Debtor days did rise to 48 days, a point of attention for working capital.

VISUALS FOR THE BOARD

Figures the boardroom understands at a glance

A board does not read a table of a hundred lines. It reads visuals that stick: the bridge from budget to actual, where every euro of revenue goes, and where you are heading. Every figure in the picture stays traceable to the journal entry.

You read at a glance why the result came in 14% above budget: the margin at Techniek did most of the work, and the one-off gain stands apart so the board does not mistake a windfall for the trend.

The board does not only want to know where you stand, but where you are heading. The fan shows the forecast with an honest range, from cautious to optimistic, instead of one falsely certain number.

Describe what you want, in plain language

No report builder with a hundred settings. You say what you need, for which period and with which focus, and the AI delivers a first version. Not happy with the tone, or missing an outlook? You simply ask, and the narrative adapts.

The story behind the figures, not just the figures

A board wants to know why the result went up. Easyclose connects the number to the drivers beneath it: which operating company, which cost type, which one-off item. Not a loose chart, but the explanation you would otherwise have to dig out of the figures yourself.

Result Q3 · consolidated€1.15m▲ 14% vs budget
Where does it come from?
Higher margin at Techniek BVbetter purchasing terms, fewer rejects+ €110k
One-off gain on sale of equipmentincidental, not part of the trend+ €42k
Higher staff costscollective pay rise (CAO) and expanded service team− €38k

The AI puts each driver's contribution next to the total, and marks what is one-off, so the board does not mistake a windfall for the trend.

Only the variances that matter

Every month dozens of items deviate. Most of it is noise. Easyclose knows your figures over time and weighs every variance: what is larger than usual goes into the narrative, the rest stays out. So you do not read a list of a hundred lines, but the three things your board really needs to know.

!Other costsVariance larger than in the past 12 months · included in the narrative+ €48k
!Debtor days48 days, +12 vs budget · working capital attention point+12 d
·Net revenueWithin its normal range · not reported separately+1.8%
·Bank chargesToo small to mention− €0.3k

Signal in colour, noise dimmed. You always decide; the AI does the groundwork and explains why something does or does not stand out.

Every number stays traceable to the journal entry

This is the difference with a stand-alone AI text: in Easyclose not a single figure is made up. Every amount in the narrative comes from your own records and stays clickable, down to date, description and entry number. No black box, but a narrative you can show your accountant without blinking.

The narrative says: “Other costs rose by €48,000.” One click and you are on the entries beneath it.

The same principle as everywhere in Easyclose: click an amount and you land on the lines beneath it. Storytelling inherits that traceability.

Under your own security

Your figures never leave your protected environment. The AI works under exactly the same shielding as you, never sees more than you are allowed to see, and secrets stay server-side. Storytelling makes your work easier, not your data looser.

The same shielding, for the AI too

The AI queries your data with your permissions (Row Level Security per organisation) and so never sees more than you do yourself, no exceptions.

Strictly separated per organisation

Your figures are stored in the EU (Frankfurt) and are shielded from every other organisation at database level. Not just in the app, but in the database itself.

No black box

Every number stays traceable to its source, and secrets never leave the server. More about security →

Ready as a board pack, in your own house style

The narrative does not stay text on a screen. It lands directly in your monthly pack, next to your charts and tables, in PDF and PowerPoint and in your own house style. From raw figures to a document that can go straight into the boardroom.

Frequently asked questions

Does the AI make up figures?

No. Every number comes from your own records and stays clickable down to the underlying journal entry. The AI writes the narrative around it, the figures remain yours and agree with your general ledger.

Which data does the AI use?

Only your own figures, under exactly the same shielding as you (Row Level Security per organisation). The AI never sees more than you are allowed to see, and your data never leaves your protected EU environment.

Can I adjust the narrative?

Yes. You refine it in a conversation: shorter, more formal, a different focus or an added outlook. It stays your narrative, the AI only delivers the first version and adapts to your instructions.

In what form do I get the narrative?

As text in the app, and it ties into the Management report: the narrative will soon land directly in your monthly pack in PDF and PowerPoint, in your own house style.

Does it work with multiple BVs too?

Yes. Storytelling works per operating company and consolidated, and can name in the narrative which BV is driving the movement.

When will storytelling be available?

Soon. We are building it out now. Want to be among the first, email hallo@easyclose.nl and we will keep you posted. The foundation (figures, drill-down, monthly pack) can already be seen in the demo.
